Growth
In 2015, Lake Country Unitarian Universalist Church was named a Breakthrough Congregation by the UUA.
Since my arrival at LCUUC, the congregation gained over 60 new members, primarily young families.
When I left they had approximately 155 adult members, and 93 children.
When you build programs based on a unified and mission-driven vision, growth and spiritual deepening will occur as a byproduct of that focus. My goal is to create the necessary structures to support growth, and then to allow it to happen organically.
Growth depends on:
I don't believe you can force people to want to come to church. I do believe you can make it so inviting that they cannot stay away.
As my second congregation attempted to move forward from the pandemic, we had 30 potential new members and more visitors every week.
My current congregation has gained 15 new members in under 8 months. It is a snowbird congregation with extremely limited participation from May through September.

Growth depends on:
- community connection
- activism
- welcome
- excellence in preaching
- outreach
- publicity
- programming
- meaningful worship
- relevance
- spiritual depth
- and welcome (it's so important I said it twice!)
